The Riyadh International Book Fair is one of Saudi Arabia’s most significant cultural events—drawing publishers, authors, educators, and families from across the region. Spanning ten days, it represents far more than printed pages. It’s a showcase of knowledge, identity, and soft power. With over a million annual visitors, operational integrity isn’t optional—it’s mission-critical.

The Scope
Our mandate was straightforward: deliver full-cycle infrastructure to support an event of national importance—power, cooling, structural assets, and on-ground support. But the scale was substantial.
What we delivered:
- 30 MW of integrated power, distributed seamlessly across exhibition halls, admin zones, visitor areas, and back-of-house.
- 6,000 TR cooling system to maintain a consistent 22–26°C environment inside large-scale modular structures.
- Tents and structural solutions for over 78,000 m², including insulated roofing, flooring, and partition systems.
- Onsite management for fuel, load balancing, generator optimization, HVAC regulation, and backup redundancies.
Every component worked in sync—designed, deployed, and managed by Energia.
Solving for Scale
High Load. Hot Climate.
Maintaining stable cooling over ten days across tens of thousands of square meters is not an easy equation—especially with outdoor temperatures fluctuating and internal crowd density rising by the hour.
Our team deployed chillers, AHUs, pumps, and ducting systems engineered for scale. Every unit was monitored and dynamically adjusted based on real-time ambient and internal readings.
Power You Don’t Notice
With tens of thousands of visitors inside climate-controlled pavilions, the last thing the organizers needed was a flicker or hum. Energia delivered continuous, unbroken power to sensitive systems: lighting grids, AV equipment, surveillance units, kiosks, and broadcast zones.
To do that, we used:
- High-capacity diesel gensets (ranging up to 1.25 MVA)
- Smart fuel tank scheduling
- 24/7 on-ground service crew
- Integrated MDBs and ODPs mapped to critical circuits
We ran zero-overlap zones for backup to eliminate single points of failure.
